It has been a very media couple of day between 2 radio/web shows and media night at the new King’s Room at the Rio! First i went to Michele Lafongs hit show called Las Vegas Backstage Now and did 2 radio spots, great line up, me, Robin Leach, American Idol finalist, Jacob Lusk and incredible lounge singer, Jack Walker. It felt really good to tell Jacob that my wife and I voted for him on AI and we felt he should have won, followed by, “you owe us about $90 in text message money”. Needless to say he was a little startled when i approached him, but he finally bought in to my sarcasm. Las Vegas Backstage Now is a great show and i highly recommend tuning in.
Media night at the Kings Room! Everyone was there to see us that night… the whose who of Las Vegas, the press!, the bloggers!, and the ones that just wanted the open bar and the free food. Needless to say the grand opening of the Kings Room in the Rio Hotel and Casino was a success and i have to say i crushed it on stage bringing the end of the night to a climax. The reception was great, everyone wanted pictures and time with me…hopefully they will write something nice about me. I guess i will keep Googling to find out. Great out come, everyone was fantastic, the other performers that night were incredible, the 2 Kings (Elvis and Michael Jackson), Bethany Owens, Comedian Anthony Padilla and the master of ceremonies, the new Johnny Carson and probably the nicest guy in Vegas…The Very professional, Comic Jeremy Wieand! The Kings Room at the Rio is going to be the hottest spot in town real soon and i am happy to be there 6 nights a week.
Vegas Hot Spots, The Hot Head Happy Hour starring Brett Feinstein. This is such a great show! I spent an hour with this laid back and very funny group of guys. We talked about the best buffets in Vegas, some fat talk and gave away some fat burgers and my “I’m Bloated” Shirts to some callers. The Show was the perfect blend of comedy and Vegas info, these guys have the scoop on Vegas Hot spots. Another highly recommended show to listen to on Friday nights at 7 to 8pm.
All in all it was a great couple of days. Las Vegas is a Entertainment Mecca, anyone who is anyone is playing here nightly. and i am very proud to be a part of this spectacular town. When you are headlining Las Vegas, you are subject to negative reviews and hopefully more positive, what ever the case may be… bring it on!
What great place to live, perform and raise a family…I never thought i would like anyplace better than Los Angeles, until Vegas. My daughter goes to a great school, my wife has a phenomenal job and i have a residency in one of the top hotels in Las Vegas, “The Rio”. My show starts at 8:30 pm, Monday to Saturday in the newly remodeled Kings Comedy Club. It has been a wild ride in the last 25 years, but for some weird reason, you never give up. Even when i thought i was retired from the business and opening up a restaurant in the mountains of North Carolina, BUT… show business has this weird way of dragging you back in. I have had some ups and downs in comedy, had the pleasure of touring the country for 20 plus years with the most shocking controversial comedian of our time, my best friend, Andrew Dice Clay. Been on a few Television shows and a few movies back in the 90’s. Got to be a part of the comedy culture in NY and Los Angeles back in the 80’s and 90’s, when comedy was all the rave. Costarred in a reality show called Dice Undisputed on Vh1., and few other things back in the day. A lot of guys in my batch made it huge and a lot never amounted to anything. I was just happy to at least always be in the game. Even when i was running my catering company in LA., “Cannoli Kings”…i always checked in with my comedy culture and kept a close ear and eye to what was going on. Maybe grab quick spot at the Comedy Store just for the fuck of it…and even then, i always still thought of “Making it”… as we so affectionately say in the biz. I really feel this is my year, the year that all this hard work and commitment pays off. I feel it…You know when you get that feeling that something is up? That’s what i feel…something is up. I feel i am very close to something big. I’ll let you know when it happens.
Here was an article written about me in the Daily New in New York, back in the 90’s. Wheels Parise’s Comic Dream…

Every standup comic has dreams and aspirations, becoming famous, getting on television, acting in movies, touring the country and having your own residence as a Las Vegas headliner at a major hotel and casino in Las Vegas with your own billboard. In 25 years i accomplished a lot, i work my ass off and commit to my passion every night, even while trying to raise a family, i am so fortunate to have a wife who understands me and lets me tell jokes for a living and i love her for that. i am proud of myself again for the first time after so many years when it comes to my career. I’ve done all of the above, except…i am still working on the famous part…

UN FUCKING BELIEVABLE!!...Andrew Dice Clay
Wheels Parise sounds like a race car driver, in a sense it’s true, because you will be going for a ride, his easy demeanor lulls you into thinking you are going for a Sunday drive but before you know it, your realize your in the middle of a high speed chase, holding on for dear life, the jokes keep coming at you, while you try to catch your breath, he’s so funny, really funny, you’ll be mumbling it long after he’s left the stage!…Louie Anderson
Parise’s big-bellied New York attitude and his Chinese/Mexican-restauraunt accents from the era of Buddy Hackett and Shecky Green …On this night, Parise showed Dustin Diamond the difference between funny-dirty and gross-dirty in an extended bit about a date with a 600-pound woman. He was fine with that, but — as usually happens with online matches — she shaved 200 pounds from her real weight.… Mike Weatherford Las Vegas Review Journal
